Course details

  • The course runs over a full weekend in Mount Barker, Adelaide Hills. 9.00am to 4.30pm.
  • Delicious morning and afternoon teas are provided, special dietary requirements can be catered for.
  • Cost is $495 with a $50 deposit to book your place (groups are kept to a small size).
  • Individual courses in your home by negotiation, cost is $600 plus travel.

Newborn photo Giving birth to your baby is such an important moment in your lives, a right of passage into parenthood. Do you want to bring your baby into this world in a calm, natural and gentle way, that empowers you to have the best start into parenthood?

Calmbirth® will help you to prepare for this journey.

Calmbirth® will provide you with knowledge about your body's and your baby's amazing abilities and how they come together during the birth process.

Calmbirth® childbirth preparation focuses on deep relaxation, visualisation and breathing techniques. By practising these skills you will make them your own and can easily access them during labour and as a parent.

Our own fears, anxieties and cultural conditioning can work against us in pregnancy and birth. Calmbirth® creates an environment in which you have the opportunity to release fears, anxiety and tension around birth and look forward to your labour and birth with confidence and joyful anticipation. Participants in the calmbirth® course can experience deep inner change and healing.

Calmbirth® will help you build a strong bond between you and your baby during pregnancy and beyond.

Partners come away from the calmbirth® course equipped with the knowledge of what to expect during labour. They feel confident in knowing how to support their partners in labour and birth and realising what an important team role they are playing.

Learning the calmbirth® relaxation and breathing techniques are useful life skills for both partners. Many couples continue using them in everyday life and during their parenting.

Calmbirth® skills can be put into practice whatever the circumstances of your unique birth journey, meeting challenges calmly without fear.

You will receive a booklet and CD for ongoing practice at home.

After completion of the course there is ongoing phone and e mail support available to you.

Monika Geisselbrecht is a midwife and antenatal educator with over 15 years experience. Her passion is to empower women and their partners to look forward to their labour and birth, to have trust in themselves and the birth process and to take ownership of their birth experience.

A registered calmbirth® practitioner since 2010 she is excited to share the calmbirth® knowledge with pregnant women/couples here in Adelaide.

Monika lives on an organic farm in the Adelaide Hills with her partner and daughter.
